1. Material of the grinding wheel: this depends mainly on the type and hardness of the material to be ground. For example, for grinding of steel or alloy steel, grinding wheels of aluminum oxide or zirconium oxide are usually used; for grinding of cast iron and non-metallic materials, silicon carbide abrasives can be chosen.
2. Grain size of the grinding wheel: this mainly depends on the surface roughness of the workpiece and grinding efficiency requirements. Coarse-grained grinding wheel can quickly remove the volume of the workpiece, suitable for rough grinding and soft metal grinding; fine-grained grinding wheel can get better surface roughness, suitable for fine grinding and hard metal grinding.
3. Organizational state of the grinding wheel: compact, medium, loose organizational state will affect the grinding effect of the wheel and the roughness of the surface of the workpiece. Usually when rough grinding and grinding soft metal, the grinding wheel with loose organization should be used; when forming grinding and precision grinding, the grinding wheel with tighter organization should be used.
4. The shape and size of the grinding wheel: according to the conditions of the grinding machine and the shape of the workpiece to choose the appropriate shape and size of the grinding wheel, in order to improve the wheel's linear speed, productivity and surface quality of the workpiece.
5. Combination of grinding wheels: ceramic bond grinding wheel with high hardness and good wear resistance, suitable for grinding carbide and other high hardness materials; resin bond grinding wheel with high strength and impact resistance, suitable for grinding steel and other tough materials; rubber bond grinding wheel with good elasticity, suitable for grinding non-ferrous metals and other soft materials.
When choosing grinding wheels, you also need to pay attention to safety issues, avoid choosing the existence of cracks, wear and tear serious or does not meet the safety standards of the grinding wheel. In addition, it is necessary to keep good ventilation and so on when using.
